Can I cook steak in a nonstick pan?
If you don’t have a cast-iron skillet, you can use a nonstick pan. To cook steak on a nonstick pan, get the pan nice and hot first. Place the steak on the hot pan and don't touch it until you flip it to the other side. Once the meat is seared, turn down the temperature for medium or well-done steaks. You can also finish the steak in a 350° oven.

The Field Method For everyday cleaning and care, we call our recommended process The Field Method. Cook often and follow these steps when cleaning up to keep your cast iron skillet in excellent non-stick condition:
1.After using cast iron cookware, use a Natural Fiber Cleaning Brush to remove loose food and residue.
2.Rinse the pan and gently scuff the surface and sidewalls with a Chain Mail Scrubber.
3.Heat the pan on the stovetop until dry.
4.Using a cloth or paper towel, apply a dab (about ¼ teaspoon) of Field Company Seasoning Oil and rub on all surfaces, inside and out.
5.Wipe away excess oil to leave a dry, matte finish.
6.Repeat every time you cook
