Ingredients:
6 Loin Steaks
200g Streaky bacon
1 avo
¼ C mayo
1 C gherkins sliced
1 C white cheddar
1 C yellow cheddar
Burger buns
Oil for cooking
2 red onion cut into thick rings
2 C self-rising flour (extra flour for dusting)
1 ½ C soda water
Salt and pepper
Oil for deep frying Method
Cook the steaks for 3 min per side in a frying pan over a high heat.
Top the steaks with the two cheeses, and close with foil or a lid to allow the cheese to melt.
Fry the streaky bacon in a frying pan over a moderate heat until crispy and place the bacon onto the cheesy steaks.
For the onion rings, get a pot of oil going over a moderate heat.
Add the onion rings to a mixing bowl and season them with salt and pepper.
Combine the bulk of the flour and the soda water to a separate mixing bowl and season the batter with salt and pepper to your taste.
Dip the onion rings into the batter and then add them to the oil to fry for a minute of teo until golden and crispy.
Serve
Assemble the burger by toasting the buns and adding some mayo to the bottom of each bun.
Add the gherkins, avo slices and the onion rings to the bacon and cheesy steaks.
Serve your burger with some French fries. @tasty home foodies
