Ingredients
BBQ Ribs
2 kg Ribs
Onion Rings
3 large red onions, sliced into rings
15 ml (1 T) salt
750 ml (3 C) flour
30 ml (2 T) BBQ spice
oil, for deep frying
Sweet & Sour Sauce:
125 ml (½ C) pineapple juice
125 ml (½ C) light brown sugar
15 ml (1 T) tomato sauce
30 ml (2 T) sweet chilli sauce
5 ml (1 t) red wine vinegar Method
BBQ Ribs
Braai the ribs for 15 minutes on each side, turning every 5 minutes. Do not burn.
Onion Rings
Season onions with salt and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
Coat onions with 500 ml (2 C) of flour and BBQ spice.
Refrigerate again while the oil heats.
Coat again with the remaining flour and deep fry the onion rings until golden and crispy.
Sweet & Sour Sauce
Stir all ingredients together in a saucepan over moderate heat until the sugar dissolves. Bring to the boil, then remove from the heat. @tasty home foodies
