10th Anniversary Cookbook


VOLUME 11: EXCLUSIVE ANNIVERSARY EDITION

The Exclusive Anniversary Edition one could say that in a humble way is my pride and joy. What also sets this book apart from the rest of the Low-Carbing Among Friends series is that all the recipes in this cookbook are my recipes.


I worked on it knowing that it would probably be my last cookbook that I share with the Low-Carb Community, so for me working on it was bittersweet. I wanted it to be special. I think I accomplished that and that it is one of my best; however, every single one of the other cookbooks are gorgeous and useful to the nth degree; however, this eleventh volume is my personal favorite.


In this book I started with a list of Favorite Low-Carb Snacks, some of which are in the cookbook and others are in general. I followed up with a comprehensive list of Low-Carb Swaps for High-Carb Foods and Drinks. I actually wrote the article for an issue of a USA Low-Carb Bookazine issue. They used parts of my article, so I decided to share it in full in my anniversary cookbook. I also included the very useful tables for using liquid sucralose or stevia in recipes. The other cookbooks contain even more tables along those lines, but these are the tables I use primarily. I use sucralose, EZ-Sweetz liquid drops and have for many years, but I include stevia, as I know many people prefer that.


All the usual categories are there (scroll down for the recipes in those categories). In addition there is a very easy-to-follow Index. There are almost 100 beautiful glossy color photos in this cookbook; more than in any of the previous Low-Carbing Among Friends cookbooks. You can see how we tried to give you a really lovely experience with our final cookbook!


With all of the cookbooks, I am the one who edits them and lovingly puts the cookbooks together. I take my job very seriously and always do my best to produce an accurate and quality job! I was trained initially by publishers who published three of my cookbooks - one of them was published by the largest publisher in Canada at the time (now taken over by an American company), MacMillan Canada. I soon figured out that I wanted to get into self-publishing. Now, of course, we are competing with thousands of other low-carb cookbooks out there, and it is more and more difficult to make a good living in this field. So, finally, after many years of stubbornly resisting, I gave in and have decided to monetize my blog, but hopefully, in such a way that it doesn’t interfere with your enjoyment of my recipes on my blog.


Our trusted brand does set us apart and we are proud to have had such creative people on the Low-Carbing Among Friends' team, not the least of which is renowned low-carb chef and TV celebrity, George Stella! I still enjoy having a cookbook I can hold in my hands, and every now and then I go to my collection and pull out a few and sit down with a cup of tea to spend an enjoyable hour planning some new menus. It is true that I also use the internet a lot, but I love having my favorites in hard copy form. We now also have Kindles of all the cookbooks, if that is what you prefer.
