Instant Pot Boerewors & Bell peppers




Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 green bell peppers, seeded and cut into strips

  • 2 red bell peppers, seeded and cut into strips

  • 1 onion, sliced, separated into rings

  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce

  • 2 cloves garlic

  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 500g boerewors

Directions


  • Step 1 .Turn on a multi-functional pressure cooker (such as Instant Pot) and select Saute function. Once pot is hot, add oil, and fry your boerewors till brown , remove your boerewors and your green and red bell peppers, and onion. Cook until vegetables are tender . Add tomato sauce, garlic, seasoning and salt.

  • Cut your boerewors into pieces add into your pot and close and lock the lid.

  • Step 2. Turn off Saute function and select high pressure according to manufacturer's instructions; set timer for 5 minutes.

  • Step 3Release pressure carefully using the quick-release method according to manufacturer's instructions, about 5 minutes. Unlock and remove the lid.
